2020 – A year to remember!

At Tru North, we value giving back to our community as one of our core principles. This year has been overwhelmingly difficult for so many and it is our privilege to be able to give back in any way we can. Throughout the year, with help from you our Tru Fam, we have been able to give back to the community we serve and love. The year started with our amazing Anti Bullying campaign where our office was covered with pink hands pledging to put a stop to bullying.

March brought about an unexpected turn of events as Covid-19 forced the world to hit pause and live in an altered reality. But even through the trying times, the Tru Squad will always continue to see the value in community and giving back to it. So as we safely social distanced from home, we recognized and honoured our commitment to days like Autism Awareness Day and Operation Red Nose Day and came up with new, safe and exciting ways to give back! Our favourite new addition this year was honouring one lucky graduate with a Tru North Scholarship to help lessen the burden of post-secondary costs.

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to share some of our favourite photos from this year and take a glimpse at the four most recent contributions, two of which could not have happened without you!
Tru North Food Drive – Vaughan Food Bank
We put out a call for help and you responded in droves Tru Fam! With your help we donated over 5 full bins of food to the Vaughan Food Bank just in time for the holidays. This year, food bank numbers are at an all-time high but thanks to your generosity, neighbours in our community had full holiday feasts!
Jordana’s Rainbows
The Tru North Team feels very honoured to have known a special young lady named Jordana Fiorini who was a patient at Tru North before receiving her angel wings in 2016. Her family started this foundation in her honour and our patients have the opportunity to donate their points to the foundation and we happily match every point. This year, we were so thrilled to donate $1,356.96 to Jordana’s Rainbows! We look forward to continuing to have Jordana’s rainbow grace us with her beauty.
Kits for a Cause – Youth Now On Track Services
This month the Tru Squad partnered with Kits for a Cause and lovingly packed over 200 kits to be donated to Youth Now on Track Services. This Not for Profit organization works with vulnerable youth by encouraging and offering support needed to them and their families. This year has been so difficult for so many, so it is our privilege to be able to make a difference for these kids and their families.
Cerebral Palsy Foundation
Throughout the year we rotate local charities for our start incentive program, donating a portion of every new patient start to a different charity. From local animal shelters to the Bully Free York Community Alliance, the Tru Squad is dedicated to making our community the best it can be. Our year end charity this year is the Cerebral Palsy Foundation; a cause near and dear to the Tru Squads heart. We are overjoyed to share that $1,180.00 will be donated to this amazing organization to help them continue making positive changes for those with Cerebral Palsy.

As we approach the end of 2020 and look forward to all the positive changes 2021 will bring, we want to stop and say THANK YOU Tru Fam. We are so honoured that through this time you have continued to trust us to take good care of you. We will continue to offer the Tru experience to everyone who walks through our doors. Thank you again and all of our best wishes to you and yours for an amazing 2021!

Get your smile on!
